Preston is excited that we were able to pull this great birthday adventure off. The party at the dive shop included cake, drinks and ice cream, along with a couple of gifts. |

Just before eating birthday cake and ice cream, the kids find themselves back at school as the dive instructor begins their first lesson in how to scuba dive. The instructor spent about 30 minutes going over the basics of diving. |

A happy birthday song, a quick video and the group is set and ready to begin the dive.

The kids listen closely as the principals of diving are explained to them.

Although Greg is a certified diver, he is not allowed to help out with the class. Instead, he takes pictures and video from the side as each kid is outfitted in his gear and checked out.

Brooklyn, determined to fit in with this older group of kids, is excited to receive her tank.

Matt swims behind Miriakah as she is being equipped with the right gear.

Justin learns to inflate his BC before being turned loose to practice.

Completely equipped and feeling pretty professional at this point, the group is anxious to actually go under water.

Though he knows the drill from diving with Dad at home, Preston still listens intently and follows the directions of the instructors.

Once the go down two or three times as a group, it is off to dive on their own while the instructors just make sure everyone is doing okay.

Underwater frisbees provide great fun once everyone is comfortable. At this point, one of the instructors invites those who are already ten to join her in the deep end.

After burning a tank of air, the kids get to play in the pool for another 30 minutes.

This was a great release before we started the long trip home.
