What better way to start the day than by meeting some favorite characters. Donald was nice enough to sign autographs and take pictures just in front of Disney's MGM Studio. Before going up, Brooklyn asked if she could give him a hug but she didn't have to because Donald hugged her first.

Along with Donald Duck, Chip and Dale greeted visitors to the MGM Studio as well. Record breaking temperatures must make it extremely hot for the characters as they limited their appearances to 15 minute sessions. Brooklyn was the last one to get an autograph before they lefts for cooler surroundings.

Tower of Terror was the first place we headed once inside the park. Preston didn't want to go, but he was determined to because he wanted a picture with his hands up. After yesterday's sky coaster, this 13 story drop was like a kiddie ride for Brooklyn. The record-breaking heat made it extremely difficult to stand in line, especially when we found out that two of the four elevator sections were not running so the wait was twice as long.

Even when his fear got the best of him, Preston remained a brave trooper in order to get a picture with his hands up. Upon closer examination, you might see tears on his face, but he left his hands up even when he was that scared. It took a few minutes after the ride was over to calm him down, but now that he has his picture, he said he was sure glad he got that over with so I doubt we see him on that ride ever again.

As the picture shows, Grandma, too, was glad this ride was over. Falling 13 stories didn't bring her to tears, but it did strengthen her arms as she has never held on quite so tightly before.

Seeing the stage show "Hunchback of Notre Dame " brought back memories for both kids from last year when the show got shut down after an extra large rain pour. Half way through the show Brooklyn asked, "when is it going to start to rain?"

Preston could hardly wait to get to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and narrated to Dennis everything that was going to happen.

What could be better than standing by his two favorite things--Indiana Jones and tanks. Dennis stuck with us to see the action while the heat was a little too much for grandma and Aunt Jan who retreated for a leisurely lunch at the Brown Derby.

While the thrill rides had been a fun experience for Dennis, he was most excited for out visit to Disney's new Animal Kingdom. We headed there about 3:00 hoping the animals would begin heading out once the heat subsided.

The tree of life was as spectacular as has been rumored. Consisting of a trunk carved in the shape of animals, underneath the tree houses another great attraction, "It's Tough to be a Bug" 3-D presentation. The enormous tree sets as a center piece for the park with the other items encircling it.

After waiting in a two hour line for a very disappointing boat ride, we almost passed judgment on the park too fast. The safari ride revealed wonderful, close up views of animals including lions, elephants, zebra's, giraffes, and various others.

Helping to build support for preventing poaching, the safari ride ends with poachers being caught and arrested before they get their next victim. After the safari, a walk through the Gorilla Falls also gave us close up views of hippos and, of course, gorilla's.

In the movie, how did Harrison Ford, in Indianna Jones, get a scar on his lower chin?
