The Lindsey's at:

Returning to MGM, Animal Kingdom and
Sea World

FRIDAY
June 19, 1998

Star Wars is always a favorite. This year, Brooklyn was able to walk on without tissues in her shoes. The line at MGM was non existent on this ride.

Muppet 3-D is a fun adventure with the muppets. The water fountain outside the theater has Miss Piggy getting wet.

Beauty and the Beast is still an all time favorite for everyone going to MGM. This version is not as good as Disney Land in California, but still very entertaining.

Of course, it always has a happy ending like all of Walt Disney's productions. We were lucky on this day that we were the first to see the parade for Mulan which is a new Disney show that opened on this day. In this picture, no one ends up with a prince of princes at the end of this story unlike Beauty and the Beast.

Brooklyn's favorite is The Little Mermaid. This is an animated show in which performers wear black suits and perform with colorful muppets on their hands--except for Ariel, of course.

Just as Magic Kingdom has the castle, EPCOT has the Planet Earth (golf ball), MGM has their water tower which designates the theme park.

During the back lot tour at MGM, Preston's favorite prop was George of the Jungle. This set was used in the filming and relocated to the back lot.

Part of the back lot tour is a simulation of an earthquake, fire, flood, rain and everything else that could turn into a disaster. Here, while we are on the tram, is such a sequence of disasters. Of course, you get wet on this one.

Getting Mickey's autograph was easy. Usually there is a one hour line, but not this time. Mickey really like Preston's hat since he took it from Preston and wore it during the shot.

Of course, we found out that Preston now has an all time favorite and Disney World, the Safari ride at Animal Kingdom. After taking this ride several days before, we did it three more times on this day. Each time, it was always different. Of all things that Preston would enjoy, we never imagined he would go crazy over this one. He was always the first to spot the animals and correctly identify it.

We took a trip on a train to travel to the Conservation Center to explore animals close up. At this location, you can learn everything about nature and animals with a hands on experience.

At Conservation Center, Brooklyn enjoyed petting all the animals.

We then journeyed back to Sea World to take our last ride. Journey to Atlantis is a new ride at Sea World so we had to try it. It included a 70' drop at 47 degrees into a splash down area at the bottom. There are also several other twists at the near the end of the ride.

Of course, we got really wet on this ride. Greg was lucky that he didn't video tape during the ride. The camera would have never made it. We got soaked on this ride.

We had to let the kids enjoy one more getting wet experience. Every theme park has these attractions and they are always busy. It didn't really matter if they got wet or not. We toured Orlando during record breaking temperatures with 100% humidity. So if the kids weren't getting wet on purpose, they were wet any ways from perspiration.

Nothing really needs to be said about this picture except that we realized we had done it all in nine days. Tired, wet, exhausted, broke and sore, we were glad it was all over. We are looking forward to returning to Safford and see Kindra and enjoy the hot, dry heat.

Question of the day:

What happened last year when Preston got Mickey's autograph
